New Life Family Chiropractic was established in 2007 by Drs. Craig Nugent and Christina Petersen. The mission of their office is to empower people to make positive health choices that enhance their bodies innate intelligence and healing potential- to maximize quality and expression of life.
Dr. Craig Nugent
Dr. Craig was born in raised in northern New Jersey, graduated with a BS in Biology from Stockton College and earned his Doctor or Chiropractic degree from Palmer College. Dr. Craig specializes in working with sports injuries, working exclusively with the New Jersey Jackals minor league baseball team over the past few years. In addition, Dr. Craig is a member of the New City Chamber of Commerce, BNI international, Toastmasters, Gracepoint Church Band of Brothers and the NJ chapter of EPOC which is devoted to chiropractic excellence.
Dr. Christina Petersen
Dr. Christina Petersen is a 3rd generation chiropractor that has received care since the very 1st day of her life. Dr. Chrissy’s grandfather, Dr. Daniel McGaurn practiced in Nyack until he retired in 1998. Her father, Dr. Robert Petersen currently practices in West Nyack, NY. Growing up in a chiropractic family allowed Dr. Chrissy to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle while giving her unique tools and perspectives to share with her current patients. Dr. Chrissy has extensive training in the Webster’s Technique, designed for pregnant women and is certified to work with children and infants through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Chrissy is a graduate of of St Thomas Aquinas College and Palmer College of Chiropractic.
The doctors of New Life Chiropractic are devoted to community wellness and development. For the last several years Dr. Craig and Dr. Chrissy have obliged to engage in a variety of non profit organizations, providing educational workshops, health screenings, and volunteer services. As they continue to search for new ways to engage in caring for the local public, they are recognized for their participation with organizations such as Meals on Wheels, All Saints Episcopal Church, Rockland Coalition for Better School Food, Capri Cosmotology Institute, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and Community Wellness Day. In addition to serving the local communities, the doctors have traveled to India on a mission trip to serve underprivileged families in promoting self-care and wellness.
